Waste Management and Pollution Prevention

Waste Management experts agree that there is only one authentic way how to achieve long-term reduction of waste management costs: the production waste needs to be minimised or better prevented, especially in case of dangerous wastes. The same holds true for payments/fines for polluting the environment.- they will drop, if we reduce pollution from our activities.

Centre for Innovation and Development has broad experience with prevention projects since 1992 already. We adopted tried-and-true methods and developed a database of preventive measures for concrete conditions.  Those producers of waste that use these procedures and information tools get innovative ideas for their product policy, for improving the management systems including EMS and also for preparing the integrated permit application in accordance with the Act on Integrated Prevention (no. 76/2002 Coll.).

The principles of production and material/product use imply that we cannot prevent production of certain amount of waste. However, we can think about the possibility of using it as a secondary product, material for different production or as a source of energy. We focus not only on waste from production, but also on products after the end of their life cycle.
CIR took part in projects developing save methods of car wrecks and elecroscrap disposal.
We cooperate with several recycling companies on developing preventive strategies for the recycling processes.
