Project in the framework of the development assistance in Republic of Kazakhstan

(2003-2005)

In December 2005 the Centre for Innovation and Development completed implementation of international development assistance project in Republic of Kazakhstan. Three years long project implementation was financed by the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic.
The project objectives and its implementation were focused on Kazakh industrial companies environmental profile improvement, basically on the efficiency of input materials utilisation, energy efficiency increasing and prevention and minimisation of environmental impacts.
The CIR team of consultants concentrated on providing trainings and seminars to company management and specialists. Training programmes were focussed on pollution prevention tools implementation and environmental technologies application. In the framework of pollution prevention projects completed in companies were implemented non-investment measures improving work organisation and technology processes optimisation. The analysis of the companies needs were basis for elaboration and implementation of technical solutions based on Czech environmental technologies. In the project were involved 19 Kazakh companies mainly from food industry sector.
To support the cooperation in the field of environmental technologies the project team developed a database of environmental technologies and their producers in the Czech Republic. The database consists of four basic areas:

  • Energy
  • Water
  • Air
  • Wastes
