As of January 1st, 2005 the Czech Cleaner Production Centre presents itself under a new name of CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT (CIR).
In accordance with our primary goal of providing professional and high-quality services that are based on new trends and developments in industry-oriented environmental protection, our existing activities are now extended by several novelties, mainly in the field of product and service innovations and environmental technologies.

5.6.2004 8th Annual Meeting of National Cleaner Production Centres

Interlaaken 5th-12th June 2004
8th Annual Meeting of National Cleaner Production Centres held in Interlaaken, Switzerland, from June 5th to 12th, 2004 proved still increasing interest in the Cleaner Production concept in its broadest sense. This meeting was organised after almost a decade of existence of the UNIDO/UNEP CP Programme.
The issue of sustainable consumption and production was presented from the point of view of market, importers, distributors and ecological labelling, but also in connection with the Marrakesh Process.
A significant part of the discussions was devoted to environmental technologies and their transfer. The most interesting topics among the technological solutions appeared to be solar energy, technologies for textile industry or electrolytic deposition.
A broad discussion was opened about the CP Programme and CP centres possible name change as well as introduction of CP certification/awards that would go to the best companies or CP experts.

17.5.2004 Seminar for regions

A seminar about cleaner production in the regional waste management plans was organised for companies of the North Bohemia region. Apart from 25 companies, several representatives of regional authorities took part in the seminar.
The participants were introduced with the regional waste management plan, preventive approaches and cleaner production programme. The discussion was directed towards legal requirements of the Waste Act, the regional waste management plan as well as environmental management systems and cleaner production.
Centre for Innovation and Development is prepared to organised similar seminar for other regions as well as provide individual consultancy services for companies interested in CP/waste management projects. more
