Interlaaken 5^th-12^th June 2004
8^th Annual Meeting of National Cleaner Production Centres held in Interlaaken, Switzerland, from June 5th to 12th, 2004 proved still increasing interest in the Cleaner Production concept in its broadest sense. This meeting was organised after almost a decade of existence of the UNIDO/UNEP CP Programme.
The issue of sustainable consumption and production was presented from the point of view of market, importers, distributors and ecological labelling, but also in connection with the Marrakesh Process.
A significant part of the discussions was devoted to environmental technologies and their transfer. The most interesting topics among the technological solutions appeared to be solar energy, technologies for textile industry or electrolytic deposition.
A broad discussion was opened about the CP Programme and CP centres possible name change as well as introduction of CP certification/awards that would go to the best companies or CP experts.
